The 6 People to Have in Your Corner

Are you working on a personal or professional goal?

Whether your goal is personal or professional,

big or small,

you’re going to want 6 types of people in your corner!

1. Companion

The Companion is on a similar journey. This is someone who understands what you are going through, is in a similar phase of life, and has a similar goal. It helps to have this person in your life because you really “get” each other.

2. Critic

The Critic is someone whose opinion you value. You trust that this person has your best interests in mind. When this person provides feedback or constructive criticism, you feel the love!

3. Accountability Partner

The Accountability Partner does not need to be on the same path as you, or working toward a similar goal. You may even find it interesting if the accountability partner is in a completely different field or on a different journey. The commonality is that you are both working on something, and you share your goals, struggles, behavior, and progress with this person. You meet regularly in-person or online and hold each other accountable.

4. Community

Community includes people who can relate to what you are working on, have similar goals, share ideas and resources, and provide guidance, support, and a sense of belonging. This can be in-person, or online.

5. Guide/Mentor

A Guide or Mentor shares a similar journey, but is a step or two ahead of you. A Mentor provides education and support directly related to your goal by having gone through it before you.

6. Cheerleader

The Cheerleader provides unconditional, unwavering support. The cheerleader sees the best in you, even when you feel like you’re failing. Especially when you feel like you’re failing. The cheerleader does not need to have personal experience or knowledge related to your goal. The cheerleader supports you through struggles, and loves to hear about your wins and celebrate with you.

Who do you have in your life supporting you with your goals? You may have one person that fulfills more than one role. Or maybe one (or more) of these roles in missing, and you’d like to address that.

One way to address that is to BE what you are seeking. You often find what you are seeking when you be that for someone else, first. I often share this mantra with clients – “It starts with me.”

We’ll be going over this, and so much more, in the Law of Attraction in ACTION Workshop – designed to support you in achieving your goals and creating the life you love to wake up to!
