What Did You Love Before the World Told You Who to Be?

What You Loved as a Girl Might Be the Key to Your Joy Today💫

Somewhere along the way, your life became about responsibilities, achievement, and holding it all together.

But the girl you once were?
She knew how to feel joy just because.
And she might still hold the map back to it.

Here are 3 simple ways to reconnect with her, and with the joy you crave now:

✨1. Remember what felt like play
What did you do for hours as a girl and completely lose track of time? Drawing? Dancing? Storytelling? That version of joy isn’t childish. It’s sacred. And there are no age limits.

✨2. Revisit places or activities from your childhood
Walk the trails you loved. Rewatch your favorite childhood movie. Pick up an old hobby just for fun, not performance. Let the nostalgia stir something awake in you. (BTW – research shows that nostalgia supports mental health by increasing feelings of meaning, connection, and emotional warmth).

✨3. Write her a letter
I know it may sound silly. Write a letter to your younger self. Ask her what she dreamed about. What made her laugh until her belly hurt. What she wanted for her future.
Then listen. She still has answers. The answers to simple, accessible joy.

The truth is: Joy was never lost.
She’s just been waiting for you to come back. 💛

Try one of these out, or all three! What did you uncover?
